This year class of Mississippi INBRE Scholars featured many amazing students such as Jackson State University student, Zachariah Bashir. Zachariah spent his summer research experience conducting research entitled, “Histomorphometric analysis of the kidney of ovariwctomized rats following the release of an NPY -1 receptor antagonist.”
Zachariah’s goal is to eventually complete medical school and become an anesthesiologist. He said that this program helped him as it allowed him to make connections at the University of Mississippi Medical School which will help him to accomplish his goal.
Congratulations, Zachariah! We look forward to seeing where your experience as a Mississippi INBRE Scholar will take you!
