Student Spotlight: 2017 Mississippi INBRE Service Scholar, Tracey Le

This summer, Ole Miss student, Tracey Le spent her second summer in the Mississippi INBRE Scholars program. In her first summer, she completed the Mississippi INBRE Research Scholars experience and this summer she gained more valuable experience in the Mississippi INBRE Service Scholars program.

Tracey’s research focused on assessing the effectiveness of a particular HIV prevention intervention program that was implemented on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She says, “My ultimate career goal is to become a physician so that I may be able to medically serve underserved communities and populations.”

She said that she enjoyed working in the community to promote health awareness in marginalized people groups. She learned about working with underserved populations and grew in her passion for serving those who need it most.
