On October 13-14, Mississippi INBRE Scholars, both past and present, presented their research at the Tougaloo College Research Symposium on Students’ Summer Research Series. These Scholars were among the 39 Tougaloo students in the Natural Sciences Division who completed internships or research experiences during this past summer and chose to present at this symposium.
Mississippi INBRE Scholars were well represented with around 10 students presenting research. The students represented all areas of the Mississippi INBRE Scholars program: Mississippi INBRE Research Scholars, Mississippi INBRE Service Scholars and Mississippi INBRE Academic-Year Scholars.
Congratulations to Mississippi INBRE Academic-Year Scholar, Nii Commey who placed first in the oral presentations. Nii spent this summer working in the lab of Mississippi INBRE Research Development Grant recipient, Dr. Lianna Li. His research is entitled “Effect of DCLK1 on the Proliferation and Stemness of Colorectal Cancer Cells.”
The Tougaloo College Research Symposium on Students’ Summer Research Series was sponsored by Mississippi INBRE.
