Catching up with 2010 Mississippi INBRE Research Scholar, Gerri Wilson

2010 Mississippi INBRE Research Scholar, Gerri Wilson has made strides in her research since completing the Mississippi INBRE Research Scholars Program. Gerri graduated from Millsaps College in 2010 and began working on her PhD at University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2011. She is an author on fourteen peer-reviewed publications and seventy-five abstracts. Gerri has volunteered at Jackson Free Clinic, served as a judge at the 2013-2016 School of Health Related Professions Research Days, assisted in supervision and training of students at UMMC, and taught lecture courses. She has received awards for presenting her research at the 53rd Annual Rocky Mountain Bioengineering Symposium (Best Student Presentation Award), Rural Interdisciplinary Case Experience (First Place Team), School of Health Related Professions Research Day (Outstanding Student Award), Southern Biomedical Engineering Conference (First Place in the Graduate Level Category), 79th Mississippi Academy of Sciences (First Place, Mississippi INBRE Graduate Symposium),  and 30th Southern Biomedical Engineering Conference (Subrata Saha Overall Conference Award), among others.
