Dr. Shahid Karim, Mississippi INBRE Bioinformatics Core Director from The University of Southern Mississippi, recently published his research entitled, “Catalase is a determinant of the colonization and transovarial transmission of Rickettsia parkeri in the Gulf Coast tick Amblyomma maculatum” in the journal Insect Molecular Biology. Dr. Karim’s research is funded by Mississippi INBRE.

Dr. Anant Singh, faculty member at Alcorn State University, published his research entitled, “Bio-conjugated graphene oxide based Raman probe for selective identification of SKBR3 breast cancer cells” in the Journal of Raman Spectroscopy. His research was funded by Mississippi INBRE.

Alexis Crockett, sophomore at Alcorn State University, was a member of the Mississippi INBRE Research Scholars program this summer.
