WXXV25 features Mississippi Health Disparities Conference 2021

Gulfport, Mississippi-based news station WXXV25 covered the inaugural Mississippi Health Disparities Conference in a feature that was broadcast over the local cable TV network on Wednesday, August 4, 2021.

The feature includes an interview with Dr. Jennifer Lemacks, director of the Mississippi INBRE Telenutrition center, concerning the importance of the conference in addressing health disparities within Mississippi and how the COVID-19 pandemic highlighted these issues.

“It’s been going great. Everybody’s ready to put their foot forward and to keep moving. We know this pandemic has given us reason and highlighted all the issues that we have with health disparities here in Mississippi. We know those things because we’re the experts in the field of health disparities and we are just happy to be here, to be moving forward and to be solving these issues,” stated Dr. Lemacks.
