Mississippi INBRE Scholars go to Southeast Regional IDeA Conference

On November 6-8, 2019, ten former Mississippi INBRE scholars attended the Southeast Regional IDeA Conference in Louisville, KY. This biennial conference holds scientific sessions on topics like Bioinformatics, Data Science, and Electron Microscopy, in addition to allowing students to present their research and network with faculty and researchers.

Tatum Freeman, Xavier Sam, and Donald Hughes gave flash talks during the Community Engagement & Health Disparities session, Valeria Brown gave a flash talk during the Advances in Cancer Research session, and Desiree-Gift Mills gave a flash talk during the Advances in Neuroscience Research session.

These students, as well as Blake Price, Aubrey Nickey, Precious Patrick Edet, Parth Patel, and Marjorie Lam, also presented their research during the poster sessions.

We also want to congratulate Parth Patel, Marjorie Lam, and Donald Hughes on winning best poster awards in the Clinical & Translational Science, Immunology & Infectious Disease, and Environmental Research & Cardiovascular Disease categories, respectively.
