Mississippi INBRE researchers present at Southeast Regional IDeA Conference

On November 6-8, 2019, ten Mississippi INBRE researchers attended the Southeast Regional IDeA Conference in Louisville, KY. This biennial conference holds scientific sessions on topics like Bioinformatics, Data Science, and Electron Microscopy, in addition to allowing students to present their research and network with faculty and researchers.
Mississippi INBRE Telenutrition Center held the Community Engagement & Health Disparities session, with Dr. Jennifer Lemacks as Chair, Dr. Tammy Greer as the Keynote Speaker, and included short talks from Dr. June Gipson, Dr. Michael Madson, and Michael Ramsey. Dr. Alex Flynt gave a short talk on “Use of small RNA sequencing to examine siRNA biogenesis in a basal arthropod” during the Bioinformatic Core Workshop session. Jennifer Laster also presented a poster on the evaluation of the three Mississippi INBRE Scholars programs.
