Alcorn State University’s Dr. Anant Singh recently published his research entitled “Anchoring Photothermal Therapy by Plasmonic Gold Nanoparticle.” Dr. Singh is a Mississippi INBRE Research Development Grant recipient.

Mississippi INBRE Bioinformatics Core Director, Dr. Shahid Karim from The University of Southern Mississippi recently received a grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for his research on the “Characterizing Emerging Tick-Induced Red Meat Allergy.” Dr. Karim’s research is supported in part by Mississippi INBRE.

Dr. Bidisha Sengupta from Tougaloo College was recently featured for her research in Mississippi Link. Her research was titled, “Differential roles of 3-Hydroxyflavone and 7-Hydroxyflavone against nicotine-induced oxidative stress in rat renal proximal tubule cells.” Dr. Sengupta is a Misssissippi INBRE Research Development Award recipient. Mississippi INBRE Imaging Facility Director, Dr. Alex Flynt from The University of Southern Mississippi recently received a grant from the National Science Foundation for his research on the “Metabolism of plant derived small RNAs in Spider Mites.” Dr. Flynt’s research is supported in part by Mississippi INBRE.

2014 Mississippi INBRE Service Scholar, Demetria Love completed her Service Scholar experience as a sophomore at Tougaloo College.
